In the days of the Moses to the days of Jesus Christ and his disciples the book of the Bible (scrolls) don't leave the Temple there making it available only to the priests and scribes to read only to Jews not to Gentiles but Jesus came as a Word (Logos) John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
