GREETINGS IS MORE OF WISH THAN RESPECT

I was chatting with my best friend last night after a long discussion with her she asked for a Wish; I sent her *Good Afternoon*

OurChats...

I: Good Afternoon

She: are you in Nigeria

It: yes but I will soon leave

She: Ok u greeted good afternoon na its night here

I: Lol it is a wish for good tidings to come to you tomorrow Afternoon

She: Wow Amen

The reason why I said all these is to enlighten people that, greets is more of "GOOD WISH" than "RESPECT"
I see Ignorance in people who do not want to greet someone maybe because they are higher than the person and feel like it is respect to greet the person.

Greetings is a wish not a respect that's why it is "Good +(Morning, Afternoon, Evening & Day etc)" = "Good Morning"...

It is Morally Right for a child to first wish an adult GOOD by Greetings its a sign of Respect but it is not a prove of Respect because Respect is in Character not in Greetings.
Someone can Greet you and still insult you.
If everyone (Nigerians mostly) will understand this they will be greeting like white people who woke up in the morning and will say "Good Morning" to their kids without asking them  can't you greet your parents.

ADVICE: Pls learn to start Conversations and Chats with your Family and Friends with Greeting you are not just Respecting them as a Family and Friends but also Wishing them Good.

NOTE: this post is not to encourage INDISCIPLINE among young ones but to encourage discipline, good behavior and attitude in GREETINGS
